Disappointed. There was not much signage at all in the park to inform you which way to go to get to the beach.
The accessibility ♿️ ramp has been boarded off and removed all summer, with no indications of repair or replacement.
It's a very stinky marsh/beach area and the outhouses do not have hand sanitizer like many of the other provincial parks do.
The parking area is grass, so unfortunately on a day after rain, many vehicles got stuck and left ruts that made it difficult for future parking.

Was very disappointed overall. There is signage at the road but once you get down to where you park, there are no signs to show you which way to go to get to the boardwalk. The water was warm but the sand is not a smooth sandy beach at all.

One of the nicest beaches I've visited. Beautiful sand, warm water, lots of space, clean washrooms, lovely boardwalk. Will definitely return. Note: for families, bring a stroller/wagon, it's a bit of a walk to the beach.

A large beach, with room for everyone. The grassed dunes were a pleasant surprise as was the nearly white sand. Northumberland Strait's version of the south shore. The water temperature was perfect for a warm day. We only wish we could have stayed longer - we experienced two moments of rain. We gave up and returned home when the rain started for the second time. I'm anxious to return to return to Rushton's Beach.

Warm waters, decent swimming in areas. That said, beach itself is small and due to popularity, becomes crowded quite quickly making it difficult to find a spot on nice days. Worst issue is with parking- not enough and with poor set up. Can easily be blocked in by other patrons for the majority of the day.

The water was as warm as bathwater. The beach isn't great for walking, small stones, but the water was so warm!

Warm waters for swimming, wading, beachcombing. The area near the parking / outhouses is for picnicking; lots of tables. There's a quick walk to the beach where you will find a terrific sandy beach with warm water. Calm waters for wee ones, a bit of a wade out there for a real swim, but so worth it.

Not for anyone with mobility issues, small children, or anyone carrying coolers, chairs and all of the things people take with them for a day on the beach. I'm sure this beach is lovely, but unfortunately I did not get there. I have a mobility issue and it was much too far to walk to get from the parking lot to the beach. I estimate it to be close to 1 km. Although the Northumberland Strait is warm water and free from seaweed like the Atlantic, during low tide a person needs to walk out very far in order to be in water deep enough to swim. Even swimming with a buddy does not make this safe for swimming, it would take a while for someone on the beach to reach you, if you were to need help. Personally, I'm not a fan of the red sand. Give me the cool waters of the Atlantic with it's white sand beaches any day.

A small beach on the Northumberland Strait is found at the end of a beautiful boardwalk. There are picnic tables in the park but they are a fair walk from the parking lot...something to keep in mind when packing your picnic supplies! It was so peaceful there and as a bird watcher, I enjoyed the observation look off near the pond.

I have been coming here since childhood a nd it remains my favorite beach. Now I bring my grandchildren here. There is quite a long walk from the parking area to the beach but it is never crowded. Just a nice unspoiled place for kids to be kids.
