Hello Jennay! Thanks for your interest in Lights Over Lapland! I am sorry to say that dogs are not allowed on any of our adventures. We have made this choice as it is often too cold to keep your furry friend warm and happy. In addition, we have to think about our other guests who may be allergic. We are dog lovers ourselves and have a black Lab that is part of the family so we would loved to have said yes. We hpe that you understand our position and that you still choose to join us in Abisko. Hello! Thank you for your interest in Lights Over Lapland. 1st or 2nd week of December makes no difference statistically. It really depends on weather and aurora activity in space so we do not have good forecasts until about 3 days in advance. If you come for a 4 night visit though, you always have very good chances of seeing something while you are here! If you check out our Customisable Aurora Photo Holidays on our website, we have a great discount for single travelers right now (until the end of this week). We usually walk much less than 2km at the time, but the furthest away location we have is approximately 2km. However, this path would be plowed so will be easy to walk. Most of our locations are closer by, so we usually walk for about 15 minutes each direction. Mostly, there is a well defined path to follow but it can get slippery at times. Deep snow is only a problem a couple of times per season if we get a large dump of snow the same day. Since Abisko is located in a rain shadow we rarely get more than a couple of centimiters of snow at a time. Hello Minnie! We always recommend the STF Abisko Touriststation or the Abisko Mountian Lodge. Both hotels are lovely and have a great staff - you will not be disappointed :)

I might be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain Lights Over Lapland uses the STF Abisko Mountain Station (also called Abisko Turiststation) as their meeting point for their nightly Northern Lights tours. They have a fairly large lobby area where guests can get in and out of their cold weather gear easily. If you book a 4 night Aurora tour with Lights Over Lapland, the STF is where they will lodge you.

Abisko is a fantastic choice. We did 4 nights and did not see much one of the nights. You will be amazed and want to spend as many nights as possible viewing the lights. Can't answer about the child. If you do photo tours, you are out for 4-5 hours at a time and it does get very cold on hands and feet.

We just got back from both Tromsø and Abisko. We were lucky to see the lights in both places. It is all a matter of luck honestly. Even if there is a cloudy day or night don’t get discouraged. Most of the company’s will travel further out to find clear skies. I recommend you stay in either place at least 3-4 nights for a better chance. On our trip the lights in Tromsø were the best. We used a company that took us about an hour out of the city. It was a true solar storm! We went March 1-12. Good luck!

Hello! A down jacket and some ski pants are great for the daytime activities but many people also choose to wear the overalls during the day as well depending on what temperature it is. You will receive a packing list together with your itinerary approximately 6 weeks before arrival if you are booked on one of our packages, but it can also be found on our website if you click on FAQ in the top menu. Hi Ahmed, We usually recommend that you stay in the area for at least four nights to maximise your chances of seeing the aurora borealis. We have many different trips available, some include accommodation and other do not. If you check our website you can find aurora holidays which include accoommodation and food as well as activities.
