This is such a beautiful place, we travelled a lot worldwide (US; Australia, Europe, Maldives, Caribbean etc) but Amrum is something special, my heart remained there this summer!

Highly recommended for Nature Guide. But the island is simply too expensive. I understand that you have to make the money in the summer...but restaurant prices; especially drinks, just before usury. Vacation rentals also overpriced..for 40 sqm in the 1. Stock 120 Euro p.T. !!! One is almost forced to arrive by car; no luggage service!!
Beaches very extensive and if you have a beach chair (15 euros per day) at the dunes, the way to the water is very long for older vacationers. Events rather little, even if then with hefty prices. So next year we return to one of the East Frisian.....

I was very disappointed 😞 that I cannot run Watt in Wittdün. To the other beaches you should have gone very far from the bus stop.

I am 70 years old but did not expect the whole island to be a retirement home! There are hardly any local or pubs , in the evening is absolutely dead pants,
Maybe great for birdwatchers.
I'm so disappointed, too bad.

The island as well as the beaches are very nice and clean.
Only the islanders are very unfriendly and make you feel not welcome (with few exceptions).
The food on the island is very mixed, lots of deep-fried and it smells like snacks.
The opening hours are simply bad, especially in the main season you just have to say.
It gives the impression that they don't want to make any money 30 minutes before closing time everything is partially cleared away.
Holidaymakers must be guided by the islanders , flexibility equal to zero.
A plus is the beautiful nature and the 4 great beaches, but with seaweed.
Eunkaufsladen have hammer prices, twice as much as in our home in the Harz.
Would not come back again, there are still more beautiful islands.;-)

Anyone who doesn't know it will be surprised by the sometimes long walks to the beach. The advantage: it is not overcrowded.
