Lovely Waterfall

Decided to visit here from Gialova and drove to Stenosia via the 82. There is a route from Gialova up through the hills but the stretch of road to Koukounara isn't car friendly. Opposite the attraction sigh is a small parking area which was empty on our visit. The track leads directly to a picnic area, then to a small bridge across the first waterfall. Beyond here the track is becoming overgrown, but still walk able. Keep following the path until you see the decent path on your left. This part of the path is in poor condition and needs to be descended carefully. In summary, well worth a visit and no lengthy walk-in. The area appears unloved though and is overdue some TLC and maintenance.

What a find!

I hadn't planned to visit these waterfalls but I saw the sign on the road and made an impromptu diversion. I was so glad I did. I walked 10 minutes to the main set of waterfalls along a moderately challenging (in parts) path and was greeted by a lovely bonus sight. Well worth a diversion.

Εξαιρετικό μέρος για μικρούς και μεγάλους. Διαθέτει παγκάκια για πικ-νικ με την οικογένειά. Κατάλληλο μέρος για φωτογραφίες. Εάν έχετε παιδάκια μαζί χρειάζεται προσοχή γιατί σε ορισμένα σημεία είναι αφύλακτα προς το γκρεμό που οδηγεί στο ποτάμι. Χρειάζεται αθλητικά για να κατεβείτε στον κεντρικό καταρράκτη.

Waterfall full of waste

This could be a nice tourist attraction.
Pleasant walk to the waterfalls and picnic tables set out in a shaded area close to the road.However, the waterfalls and surrounding pool were full of plastic and old rubbish which had obviously been there for a while.
If this was cleaned up properly it would be a nice place to visit instead of an eyesore.

A 5 minute walk in the woods from the main road and you come upon the first of a series of waterfalls in Stenosia that lead all the way down to the waterfall of Kalamaris about 6km away. Though it seemed a nice idea to follow the path, the stench in the air and murkiness of the waters were inhibitive. According to a local blog, the river is the recipient of wastewater from surrounding oil mills.
