What a wonderful little railway, a great place for the kids and parents. The route takes you to a perfect park, ideal for a picnic or you can walk up to the advertised tea room.
The pricing for the railway is also very good value.

Great little railway next to a large (and pricey) car park.
Ride was good but fairly short but still the kids loved it.

Well worth a visit to Saltburn for its magnificent beach.The miniature railway is approx; 1 mile and takes the visitor to the Italian Gardens and Woodland walks and to the Victorian Tea Rooms. Well worth the visit.

Our young kids loved it! The staff went out of their way to make sure the kids had a fantastic time. Would definitely recommend it!!

We visited on Good Friday which was the first day of the season for Saltburn Miniature Railway. We'd planned our visit to the resort to include a ride and so glad we did. For a bargain £2 per person we got a lovely ride on a steam train for a couple of miles, the driver tooting as we went and walkers waving at us, the train decorated for Easter, chance to walk around the Italian gardens and/or enjoy a cuppa in the tea rooms at Forest Halt at the end of the line before returning. You can also buy a one way ticket and follow the train track on a nearby well-kept path by a stream and through a playground. All the volunteer staff were so friendly ensuring everyone had a suitable seat, taking photographs of families, etc, and we were given a booklet about the history of the gardens to read whilst awaiting the train departure. A great hour or so for all ages.

A pleasant trundle up the valley from the sea to the Gardens, and a great ride for children.
People who last visited Saltburn some years ago may be surprised to find that the railway has moved. A lot of the line got washed away in a flood several years ago, and a new line was built on the other side of the beck replacing part of the old route below the bridge. Children may be interested in trying to trace the original route: there are odd signs of it still visible.

This was a lovely little train ride enjoyed by all three generations...on our recent long weekend...the volunteers were amazing...taking pictures for visitors...very informative when we were checking times etc....and not a grumpy face in sight...it was so refreshing to see all the volunteers smiling and waving and engaging with all the passengers..Price was great value too ..Well done to all involved we Loved it

Beautifully restored trains (proper steam trains), carriages also in excellent condition. Very short ride but so much fun, would recommend any day. How they make it pay at £1.50 per trip I will never know

A lovely train ride through the lovely gardens,the price is very good and staff very friendly,seperated for social distancing,only problem isparking in saltburn but very fun trip.

Great little train, run by very friendly and welcoming volunteers. One of the high lights of my Yorkshire holiday.

Is there room for prams on the train?

Their Web site says the train can take two wheelchairs so I expect it can take prams. If it folds up small I expect it could go in a normal carriage.
