So peaceful and tranquil; you immediately become immersed in nature. The Robin trail was imaginative and well thought out, making the visitor experience a delight. Well sign posted, the majority of walks were on tarmac or boardwalk.

We were staying in Seaton and this reserve was virtually on our doorstep and how lucky we were. A really great reserve with lots of hides with great views over the wetlands as well as the Axe Estuary. We spent the whole day wandering around with a lunch break in a local pub. Super day out

Sunday 2nd June, a glorious sunny day and we visited these incredible Seaton Wetlands, which are literally on our doorstep.
While walking about we visited two of the features in the Wetlands, Burrow Pit and Marshes Hide.
From the hide we saw a variety of birds including chaffinch, sparrows, robins, egrets and so much more. We saw a fox family enjoying the sunshine, sheep and cows grazing. There were great views across the River Axe and it's valley, it was made all the better as a tram went by.
As we walked around the Burrow Pit we saw
a swan sitting on her nest.
We only encountered a handful of people as walked about so it was so peaceful and tranquil.
There is no admission fee to visit the Wetlands.

Tranquil location has many resident and visiting birds. Highlights include Sand Martins, Avocets, Cetti’s Warblers, Long-tailed Tits, Robins and Chaffinches. Good pathways across the whole site make it accessible for all. Toilets are available. Wildflowers and flowering shrubs abound. The staff and volunteers should be very proud of Seaton Wetlands.

A very accessible route through the wetlands. Many birds and wildlife to see. An enjoyable way to spend an hour or 2 and free to do. Great for all ages.

Great Nature reserve, plenty of walkways, nice visitor centre, coffees and snacks, friendly and helpful staff. Lots of hides for watching birdlife. We enjoyed it.

What a hidden gem. We had a fabulous cycle followed by a walk around the reserve.
Some of the board walks are a little rotten which was fine for us but anyone on wheelchairs might struggle. Definitely worth a visit.

There are lots of hilly clifftops in Dorset, so we opted for the flat wetlands when we wanted to picnic on the goodies from the nearby superstore (contrasts...). It was a good choice, with easy access on winding tracks to attractive views across the varied marshy landscape with plenty of pools. Swans and geese seemed to predominate, but there are no doubt other species in other seasons. We did spot a robin, that ate the crumbs of a sandwish.

There is plenty of parking. The majority of the paths around the nature reserve are metalled and so good in wet weather too. Bird hides over the estuary are built out over the water and many aquatic birds can be seen here. In the main hide an owl often roosts and Swallows nest! There is a dipping pond and great places for children to play too.

Visited here following reviews whilst staying in the local area. Easy to find - behind the cemetery, parking is through the cemetery and a donation in the box. Path around the outside leads to the bird hides and is flat. Whilst in one of the hides not only were there lots of birds amd wildife to see, also saw the tram pass on the Seaton line

Hi, I wondered if anyone could let me know where I can park to visit the nature reserve and what time it is open. I plan to visit tomorrow (Tuesday 2nd Oct)

You have to drive through Seaton Cemetary to get to the large car park, then walk out of the corner and down the lane.

Hi Julie, no I am afraid that this is a no dog policy at Seaton Wetlands, other than guide dogs.
