My husband and I had a wonderful spa day here over the weekend. The staff treat you like VIPs from the minute you arrive to the moment you leave. Special mention for Ruth who facilitated our mud chamber experience and was kind and helpful throughout our day, checking in that we were enjoying ourselves without being intrusive. The spa facilities are brilliant with two steam rooms, two saunas, salt room, relaxation rooms, a massive pool and our favourite: the hot tub garden! The mud chamber was good fun and my skin felt amazing after it; a really nice option if you want an add-on to your spa day but don't feel comfortable with massages/facials. Food was really lovely too. The day was asolutely great value for money. Significantly cheaper than most other spas I've been to in the area for the taster package, but just as good if not better. We'll definitely be back for more.

Visited with my sister for her 50th. Booked the Signature Spa Day on a Black Friday Deal.
From the moment we arrived every single person that worked there was friendly snd helpful!
Our welcome refreshments and lunch were amazing, one of the best Chicken Ceasar Salads ive had!
We did the Mud Experience that we booked in arrival and it was great. The facilities were clean and plenty of sunbeds, seats etc.
A lot of spas feel too busy for me to fully relax but this didnt!
Will most definitely be returning!!

Everything perfect from beginning to end!
We treat ourselves to an annual spa day and decided to return to the fairlawns (last visit was around 7/8yrs ago).
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff and served a lovely welcome breakfast.
Facilities were excellent, a wide variety of steam rooms (loved the minty one) and outdoor hot tubs were stunning!
Lunch was beautiful - Gabby deserves a shout as she’s lovely and presented me with a pretty impressive chicken salad ❤️
Pool a decent size and enough beds for guests. Spotlessly clean.
Afternoon treatment was a stone massage, my therapist was Brody and she was absolutely fantastic. One of the best treatments I’ve ever had and I’ve been to a fair few spas.
Only suggestion I would add is it would be worth mentioning to spa guests on the booking confirmation to bring a refillable water bottle.
We will be recommending and returning next year ⭐️

had a spa with lady called joanne marshall lovely lass at time but possessive something went missing out my wife’s bag not great this we wouldn’t be going again bad experience well no lovely hotel in every way just this person spoilt it for us it’s a top luxery hotel and need to have trust i bet she’s good at buttering people up then stealing from them should be a professional thief

First time spa day experience at Fairlawns .
There were aspects that I found disappointing .Unless you like herbal tea there was not a hot drink included in the package .I do not drink tea at all so felt disadvantaged because of this , I would have expected a basic coffee or tea especially at breakfast included in the price .The only other option included was tap water . The chairs in the spa cafe/restaurant were very uncomfortable to sit on . Service quite slow at lunch despite pre ordering the food . The ladies toilets upstairs by the ladies changing room were far too small to get in and out to use them safely . The treatments although pleasant enough I felt were lacking , I have had treatments all over the world unfortunately these were not some of the best I have had .
I did not really get the sense of luxury from this experience and would not choose a spa day here again .
I have given an average rating overall mainly because I found the staff helpful and pleasant .

Thank you for your feedback Addy522015, Liz the Spa Manager recalls speaking with you on the day and is really sorry her gesture's on the day, along with the bespoke treatment adaptions we made for you did not leave you feeling more satisfied with your experience.
Included in a spa day we provide a fresh fruit smoothie on arrival, unlimited herbal teas (three choices of flavour) and our filtered waters are provided within the spa facilities along with iced fresh fruit waters in the spa lounge. Guests staying hydrated and limiting caffeine when using the heat experience is really important to wellbeing however, we of course understand everyone has different preferences and we are sorry you were disappointed.
We appreciate your feedback on all areas and will consider all these aspects as a team. Thank you for the taking the time to review your experience with us and we are so pleased to read that you found the staff helpful and pleasant. The spa facilities were good—clean, varied, and well-maintained, but I was unfortunately let down by the food included as part of my spa day. I ordered a club sandwich, which was served freezing cold—even the toast. When I asked the server, I was told it was meant to be served like that. However, the sandwich was so cold, straight from the refrigerator, that it was completely tasteless.
I requested for it to be reheated, and when it came back, it was lukewarm at best. It was clearly the same sandwich, which had been cooked, refrigerated, and poorly reheated. The toast had become rock hard and inedible, and the chicken wasn’t fully heated through, making it unsafe to eat. I left the sandwich untouched as I didn’t want to risk feeling unwell, which meant I went hungry for the rest of the day—not exactly ideal when you’ve spent £175 for a spa day.
I emailed the manager afterward, but their response was disappointing. They claimed that no one had ever complained about the sandwich before and that the chef insisted it had been reheated to safe standards. While I was offered £15 to cover the lunch element, I don't feel this fairly reflects the impact it had on my day. For a high-end spa experience, I expected much better, especially in terms of customer care.

We offer a choice menu and could have offered you an alternative dish or made something for you to ensure you did not go hungry during your day and apologies for our misunderstanding here. We are genuinely sorry this impacted your day and John or General Manager would have been more than happy to discuss it further with you had he known you were not satisfied with the refund of your meal.
Whilst we did refund this element, an alternative offer was made to enhance a return visit. We thank you for noting you enjoyed the facilities and that they were well maintained, if you do wish to return please contact us directly and we would love to help you plan a relaxed day and ensure we get the menu right. I would have stated 5 however it seems a bit poor to charge for tea or coffee as part of breakfast included. Then front of house staff apologised for late lunch offered glass of Prosecco then send invoice next day.
Overall it’s a nice spa and clean however sometimes little things go a long way. Paying over £200 for spa day and treatment then to be invoiced next day for tea / coffee (which really should be part of breakfast) then also charge for something offered as apology for late lunch. Just takes edge off experience.
I have called and the team are taking the Prosecco off but it’s more the principle of the experience and how it makes you feel than the cost itself.

Exceptional Spa day as always. Took my sister this time as she has just completed her degree at the age of 53. . The staff all have super customer care skills and our treatments were pure bliss. The blend of a facial and back massage was just what was needed . Food was also delicious. 😋

Another experience at the Fairlawns!!! I have - attended for parties and been to the spa on a number of occasions and can say they never fail. There has been a new refurb so the spa restaurant and indoor area have been revamped and must say 10/10.
Facilities never fail me and another spa day bag. staff are all very friendly and accommodating.
My sisters and I all had treatments, body scrub and massage. Therapists Chloe, Izzy & Erie were lovely and very attentive. The Elemis products always win.
I would make a recommendation that there is somewhere to dry swimwear while having treatments as it's not nice putting cold wet clothes back on after a massage. More warm chill out areas as the facilities get very busy when members start arriving.
The cutlery needs to be checked before laid out as we had to have it changed 4 times which they were apologetic about.
More seating areas around the pool as it felt squashed and not enough as it got busy.
On a whole this is one of the best spas we regularly use.

Visited here with my family today as a surprise for my niece.
We booked the spa starter day as most of us hadn’t done a spa day before. I have . I must say the service we received from all the staff was exceptional.
The spa facilities and hot tub were amazing . We had breakfast on check in which consisted of a smoothie , crossiant and yogurt .
Our 2 course lunch was booked for 1.45 which I thought was tasty .
You get given a robe , 2 towels and complimentary bag but take your own flip flops.
The day went so quickly and we used all the facilities except the gym .
I really enjoyed my time here and I would recommend a visit . Although we didn’t book any treatments ,so can’t comment on these .
Yes the main pool is cold on entering but you soon warm up once in .
The tiles are very dark which makes the pool look dark and uninviting but it’s actually quite refreshing.
I came out feeling so relaxed I could have fell to sleep .
The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because there are only 2 private changing cubicles which we had to wait for each other to get changed other than this it was perfect and I would return, and its right on my doorstep .

Good evening.
Is there a extra cost to use the different rooms in the health club? Also when booking a over night stay can you add spa treatments on? I can see you can add dinner etc haven't seen link for treatments.

I am planning a visit to the hotel for a romantic couples break, can anyone suggest spa treatments that I might like to book based on your experiences? I was thinking of a couple's massage, and maybe a mud chamber or dry float. if anyone can tell me their experiences that would be great.

Hi I fully recommend the mudchamber for a couples treat this can get very steamy with all the massaging of the mud onto each other, it also makes your skin feel amazing after.

I'm stayin 13rh feb. I use a wheelchair sometimes so is it all in short walking distance eg, spa rooms restaurant. Thankyou Lou x

Hi Lou, thank you for your email. The hotel layout is a little complicated so this would vary room by room, so if you send your booking details (full name and/or reservation number) I will look to see where you are located etc and try to make the journeys shorter for you. It is a fairly large complex so if you are able to, I would maybe recommend bringing your wheelchair just in case. Thank you.
