House of birth of Rudolf Maister is near the parish church. Locals organized small, contemporary museum in the building. Entrance fee is low. Place is closed for holidays – it is not good solution. Exhibition depicts life and importance of Rudolf Maister – with some exaggeration. Rudolf Maister was an officer, general, important for northern border of Slovenia and not as important as Churchill or Pilsudsky for Europe. Maribor needs similar presentation.

The imposing dark figure of Maister outside his birthplace contrasts beautifully with the gleaming exterior of this small museum .
It's part of the Kamnik Intermunicipal museum and is on the most famous street in town, right beside the parish church.
It's open from Tuesday to Saturday and entrance is a modest 2 euros.
The exhibition inside really brings this famous Slovene general, poet and patriot 'back to life'. Such is his importance that he is celebrated on a Slovenian National Holiday (23rd November).
The museum is small but wonderfully designed and very atmospheric.
Excellent touchscreen resources as well. Good leaflet in English. Welcoming Staff.
