Review of the actual bridge, not the pub/ restaurant.
The bridge is extremely old and in great condition. Used for those on foot when the road floods.

We were looking forward to a visit to The Packhorse Inn as it had been highly recommended by family members who had recently visited. Unfortunately we must have caught them on a bad day. On the plus side, the meal, starters main and dessert, were all fine, nothing special but all OK for the price. The disappointment was in the level of service. We had about five or six different servers during the course of our visit and there were long, unexplained delays between each course (and they were not busy with customers, as there were several empty tables). No one checked to see how we were getting on - even Wetherspoon's can manage that. positive experience there. We may try them again at some time as it's a convenient location for us and as I say, others have had a

Popped in for a quick lunch - very warm welcome, fire roaring and lovely stylish decor. Food was great - very high quality but still informal and good value.

We stayed at the Packhorse for two nights and had a throughly enjoyable stay.
We arrived late on Friday but were still warmly greeted and helped with our bags to our lovely room.
Great breakfast and super helpful staff.
We didn’t get to try the evening meals, but there were some delicious smells coming from the dinning room.

This is a fascinating structure. It's so interesting to be able to see such an amazing thing as a packhorse bridge. Literally what it says in its title,it's a bridge for packhorses originally. I used to pick a colleague up every morning for work in herringswell,she would always sit in front of the bridge waiting for me. Architecturally it's very interesting and the construction is really intriguing,I live the design of it,not a straightforward bridge,but something purposeful and remarkable that it's still survives and was used for soany yrs. If you visit Newmarket,just take an HR or two out of your day and visit Moulton. You won't miss the bridge as it's very easy to find. Not flat but with a gentle archlike curve to it so there's clearance beneath it for small boats. It's a great survivor of a bygone era and well worth the little extra time it would take you to visit when in Newmarket.

Lovely village right in the middle of race horse country but this particular feature is right out of the history books. Really beautiful.

We stayed the weekend and took our dog. Great room, great food and very accommodating staff. Would book again. Good value.

Before the Packhorse arrived there was nowhere local to go that could be described as delicious or fabulous. Now, I feel privileged to have such a fantastic foodie place on my doorstep. Took Mother out for a pre-Christmas lunch and she was overwhelmed with the standard.
Service is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Food is top quality and sumptuous.
You can have a drink at the bar while waiting for a table. Wine list excellent. Pluses for me is champagne by the glass and a decent Chardonnay.

You could, for ease and in walking distance,try the aptly named Packhorse. The food, accomodation (friends often stayed there while visiting me) and atmosphere are all very pleasant and of course it's close walking distance from the bridge.
