Dreadful food
Deep fried squid was raw!!
Then when I told them, 5 people looking at it, as a science experiment
It does look raw. She said it was white!!
Well I said it not a steak where it could be pink !
Not great staff!!! Not very nice or pleasant

Go to the Oaks! Thanks very much to the Oaks staff. I had booked lunch with friends at the Oaks for Sunday lunch, as it was handy for everyone. The menu choices were very good, and two of had rump steaks, while the others had pizzas. Everyone appreciated the low music volume so that we could talk easily.
All the best with the change of management, and we would visit again for sure.

Quick trip to Sydney from regional NSW so I thought the Oaks would be a good choice for a steak and a beer with my partner as we were staying nearby - how wrong I was - poor quality steak - served cold with nursing home vegetables, my partner had an institutional style lamb shank which was flavourless - don’t go there for the food it’s not good at all - there was a good selection of craft beers at a price about 20% higher than I’m used to paying for the exact same beer . Last time I’ll ever go to this pointless and disappointing venue

Good range of bottled wines.
We are long-term customers and were eager to have a lunch in the sun.
We ordered a pizza and a chicken salad.
The chicken salad was supposed to have soy marinated chicken. There was no real soy and around a quarter of a small chicken breast. The “salad” was some grated carrot something green with not much else. The dressing was over sugared and unpleasant. The pizza, which is one of the highest profit lines on any menu, was floppy and unpleasant. Underneath the pizza was what looked like polenta but again tasted sweet and was totally out of place. You can tell I was disappointed. We left our meals, drank the wine and went to another venue for some food. Perhaps because they are selling the venue they have taken their eye off the ball but that doesn’t excuse serving less than RSL quality food for the high prices they charge. We will see if the new owners lift the quality before considering coming back.

I remember when the Oaks was more a wide open boy meets girl drinking experience, but it seems to be more for groups and families at least these days (although not bad for a solo visitor like me). There is a wide range of drinks and food (besides the steaks you can also order many other things too, including pizza and the usual main dishes you would find at a typical Sydney pub these days). Friendly atmosphere and staff. All in all a good place to spend a leisurely Sunday.

Found the food underwhelming and expensive for what it is. One of our group of 4 had his dinner arrive after one had finished. Better food and service available around the corner.

The Oaks is a great venue for drinks with a wide ranging menu for food options. It may be the range that means we are spoilt for choice but also too many meaning too many not done well. Roast was expensive at $29 (e.g. burger is $25) but ‘promised’ the full works. Beef and ham in small but manageable quantities, small side of roast veg and partly cooked green beans. Was told it came with classic Yorkshire pudding but alas there was none. Overall 5-6 / 10.

We went to the Oaks for dinner tonight because I wanted their good mussels. They were finished so we had fish-good and one pizza and to burgers. Arrived quickly but all food was cold.

Not great. We walked so didn't need. But lots around streets in area. You must pay. So read machines. Also some are reverse parking so check otherwise you get fined
