What an amazing experience working with the professionals from Eagle Ray Diving Center to achieve my open water certification. The facilities are updated and clean, and the equipment is current and clearly well maintained to ensure all divers have great dive opportunities while in guardalavaca.
I can not express my gratitude enough to Jean for his in pool and in class instruction. He takes the time you need to learn basic scuba theory to support your in ocean dives.
Alex is amazing, hands down! He was my in ocean dive partner from first dive to last dive and made me feel safe 100% of the time, while making sure to stress the importance of safety, underwater ecology and sharing his passion for diving.
All the Dive Center staff and boat drivers are courteous and kind, but most of all, Profesional, demonstrating the importance of safety while having fun diving .
It is also important to note that all my documents were uploaded quickly and correctly, and I received my virtual certification card with a few business days. All dives were logged into my log book and signed off on.
Thanks again, and I recommend this center to all visitors in the area.

Отличный центр! Единственный на Кубе где проводили брифинг перед погружениями. Красивые места для дайвинга. Важно, на момент поездки адрес отличался от данных в интернете и картах. Новое рассположение - сразу за гостиницей brisas.

My wife and I stayed in Playa Costa Verde hotel about 20 minutes drive from the dive center. The center arrange for transportation which is nice. 10 dive in totals 1 deep dive and 1 shallow dive everyday. The dive masters are excellent and very friendly.

We did 4 dives each with Eagle Ray Dive Center using their boat Atlantic Diver 2. We used all their kit apart from our own dive computers. We did 3 dives with Alex and one with Victor. Both were knowledgeable and helpful. Not as much Sea life as say the Red Sea, but still very nice dive sites.
Good facilities, recommended

Scuba Diving - Eagle Ray Scuba Diving Centre
I would describe my Diving as fairly experienced at 400 plus dives over 15 years in various places all over the world. The dive centre is not on the resort at Brisas but at one about 4 resorts further down the beach. It’s a 10 minute boat ride away. Depending on the time of day, the guys at the hut running the canoe/pedalo/sailing at Brisas have a phone line and can speak to the dive centre and hand the phone to you if you want to chat to them. I contacted the centre via Facebook in advance before I travelled to ask some questions and they volunteered a 10% discount on published prices, which I took them up on, although they do take around 3 days to reply to messages on messenger (even when you’re in Cuba!). The kit they are using looks fairly new and reasonably well maintained. Some friends of mine had used the centre a few months before and said that they thought the health and safety wasn’t great. My experience was; when I asked if they wanted to see my qualification, the reply was ‘I suppose so’ and not in a humorous way, no buddy checks made, dive guide asked all divers to descend the line to the bottom and he would go last (which was a surprise) no briefing on how to get in/out of the boat, a safety stop was mandatory (which is a good thing). However, the bare minimum of dive brief was covered at the site pre dive. I asked to dive the wreck or caves. I got a wall dive and reef, of which they have a great many - 26 in total if you ask them, and I suspect they all look very much the same. There is evidence of coral bleaching and lots of dead white coral around. Mainly smaller fish life. I saw five Lion Fish on my two dives and they seem to be destroying the life. Some fish were following the divers, which suggested to me the dive guides are feeding the fish to make it appear that there is more fish life than there really is. The dive boats have a fairly high side and they place a small metal ladder over the side for exit. In my opinion best done without your kit on! However, no guidance was given on this. On my first dive, a couple from the UK who were clearly holiday divers but had been using the centre a lot, were taken to 40m by the guide despite their qualification limiting them to 30m (and their insurance too I suspect!). The conclusion here, if you are an experienced diver with a sensible head, able to dive and deal with things independently and your desperate to get away from the beach for a few hours then go for it. If you are looking to gain a qualification then keep looking as there are many other/better/safer places to learn in the world.

Struggled to get a response from Eagle Ray prior to arriving in Cuba. However managed to organise some diving once we'd arrived in Cuba. Wadnt overly impressed with the dive staff or the diving, so only completed 2 dives and decided not to do anymore.

Přestože jsme měli hodně nabitý program, zvládli jsme i potápění s Eagle Ray Scuba Diving center...sice jen 6 ponorů, ale byli jsme spokojeni - voda čistá, personáv v pohodě, zážitkem byl ponor k lokalitě Parque k potopeným tankům..i další ponory byly krásně pomalé a klidné...viděli jsme perutýni, plno korálů..

I wasn’t expecting a lot diving in Cuba, and the two dives I did were ok, but nothing spectacular. Couples of lion fish and one small manta Ray. Since I did not have any success arranging dives at the shop next to my resort (closed for renovations they said) I was just grateful they included me on their dives since I hadn’t reserved with them.

A group of us did a number of fun dives at the dive sites directly opposite the shop. I was the most experienced in the group (35 dives) and spent most of my time ensuring everyone was safe - the staff didn't spend enough time briefing or ensuring the inexperienced divers knew what was going on. People had weights falling off them, emergency regulators floating all of the place and people getting well below 50 bar. Not great for very inexperienced divers.
However, my girlfriend and I did the shark dive at Santa Lucia through Eagle Ray and it was the best dive I've done so far. 10 Bull sharks no further than 1m away on a beautiful old wreck. Stunning. And our guide George was amazing - picked us up at the hotel fro the 3 hour transfer and was amazing the whole day. Couldn't recommend this enough.

You will need to go out a fair way but it’s no worse than what you would see on a dive!

Hi,
seems that nobody is responding since at least one year?
I've wrote some messages through their Facebook Site but got no response.
Do they offer some international recognized OpenWaterDiver courses? SSI, NAUI, CMAS?

We are planning on diving during our stay at a nearby resort from March 31-April 5, 2018. What is the 'typical' schedule for 2 dives daily? What time do they pick you up at your hotel/what time do you get back?
Do they often have to cancel the dives due to weather/rough seas? Thanks!

We are 3 certified divers (1 instructor, 1 junior diver). What is the diving like? Do they have gear? (gear at Blau was great - did not need to bring ours). How much per dive etc. Going to Brisas 13-20 March. Thanks
