I always enjoy visiting zoos and I enjoyed my visit to Fota Park in Cork.
I'm an annual member of Dublin Zoo, so I could use my pass there as well.
At the moment, you enter and leave through the shop, unusual way. I understand when leaving as you are more likely to buy something on your way out, but when entering, it didn't really make sense. Straight away when you enter, there is an animal enclosure infront of you, and I thought that didn't look great. When walking at the start, you can walk past enclosures without seeing anything, so the kids lost a bit of interest. Overall, the Zoo is good, but not one what I would say you have to visit.

Me and my kids absolutely loved this place, everything is so well laid out and such close interaction with all the animals. We will definitely be visiting here every time we are in Cork.

Had a lovely day in Fota with a mix of adults and 6 year olds!
Always so lovely to see the animals with lots of space, and especially the free-roaming ones like the maras and kangaroos!
Try to go not to close to the end of the day as the tropical house closes before the park.
Great photo opportunities and lovely snacks in the cafe.
Giraffes our absolute favourites, but the giant pelican was a close second!

As a family of 5 with three kids under 6 we had a great time. Staff were very nice. Dublin zoo pass covered the visit. Food in the restaurant was simple and staff were lovely. Train journey is very well worth it and costs €2 per person round trip . Animals roam free in some areas and it's great to see. Highly recommend

I visited with my friend with high hopes to see the capybaras, unfortunately, we left with great disappointment as the capybaras where not in their habitat. 😢

Lovely wildlife park to walk around. Better than build-up zoos as Fota is very open and easy to view all animals. Nice variety of animals and park is well laid-out.

I have been to wildlife parks and zoo’s all over, with keepers days, behind the scenes experiences and encounters etc and this is by far the BEST and the CHEAPEST I have ever come across. I don’t like seeing animals cooped up in cages or behind glass but I also appreciate that through zoos and parks etc there is a lot we can learn from these creatures and help prevent extinction of some animals. However on entering this wildlife park I feel that this is the WILDEST you will ever see animals without compromising safety, they all looked very healthy and happy, because there were very few ‘caged in’ areas it meant you got fantastic views of the animals and really felt like they were as close as they could get to being in their natural habitats. The restaurants were very reasonably priced, how many places can you get a full meal with drink for under 10 euros! And the food was really nice too, the ice creams and gift shop were also very fair pricing too. If you don’t want to walk all the way round you can take the train either on a single or return for just 1 or 2 euros respectively. Obviously these prices are what I paid this week and may change when you visit so don’t expect my prices quoted above to be perfectly spot on. The wildlife park feels like a massive woods where you stumble across kangaroos, peacocks, pelicans and lemurs roaming wildlife, it is fantastic! And less than 20euros to enter with no pressure to buy anything while your there, they even have picnic areas specially if you fancy taking your own picnic into the park so it appeals to all demographics regardless of your fortunes. It is a wildlife park so please do go expecting to see WILD life roaming the park and while you are at your picnic bench having lunch - that is the beauty of the park, it is a privilege to be able to sit enjoying all the park has to offer, up so close and personal. You should not feed the wildlife with your lunch but naturally people over the years have fed them or don’t clear up after themselves properly so some of the crows and peacocks have learnt to associate people sitting at picnic benches with food and this has also attracted in some of the gulls, but this is not the parks fault or the animals fault, this is human error and to learn from this the park have many signs up and bins located round the park and are very passionate about their recycling so please do take advantage of the bins and recycling provided. If you have a little toddler who gets tired of walking you can ask to borrow one of their strollers for your day trip free of charge which is fantastic. All the staff across the park are all so friendly and take time out of their day to make time to speak to you and answer any questions you have about the animals and park. I cannot rate highly enough. Absolutely superb experience and day out! Anyone reading this, I would also recommend, if finances allow you to, to make a donation to the park no matter how big or small, every little counts, without your donations and generosity parks like this cannot continue to exist and your donations help the park to improve the quality of life for these animals. I would happily have paid three times the entry fee to go to this park so was happy to make a donation and I visited 2 days in a row as it was such a lovely place to wander with my toddler with fantastic sensory and wildlife experiences for him, he’s only 13 months old but he loved the entire experience from the moment we entered the park till we left the gates and refused to nap the whole day as he didn’t want to miss seeing any of the animals as it was so engaging.

We attended the park today and took part in the family VIP experience and all I can say is it was out of this world. Our guide Willy was excellent. Super friendly and his knowledge is priceless. He really made sure we had the best day and got all the best photo opportunities. I can’t say enough good things about our visit and a special thank you to Willy for making our trip so special !

Yes! The warden experience is AMAZING!!! I cannot recommend it enough. It’s genuinely a once in a lifetime experience. (That I definitely wish to repeat lol) you will not regret it
