My family and I recently stayed here for 1 night as we visited and explored Sequoia National Park. The lodge property looks safe and, although there was still plenty of snow around, easy to get around.

I'll start with the negatives as per the title, it is a little dated and run down but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen. However the staff here were the negative in my opinion, they weren't very helpful and there's definitely room for...เพิ่มเติม
Our family of 5 stayed in the single private cabin in March 2017. There was plenty of bedding space to sleep everyone comfortably, with extra mattresses, roll-out bed, sleeper sofa and bunk beds and extra blankets. The view was amazing, kids loved learning how to...เพิ่มเติม
We just got back and can't say enough about how amazing Montecito Sequoia Lodge was for us! We have three young kids and the lodge was PERFECT fit for families. With cocoa and coffee always brewing, books and games aways on hand and an amazing...เพิ่มเติม
We're so sorry, but we don't allow pets. You may want to check Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia or John Muir Lodge in Kings Canyon to see if either of them have pet-friendly rooms. Good luck!
Thinking of staying here for two nights in early April 2017 (family of four, kids will be 13 and 8), what's the weather like at this time of year and is it difficult to get to from LA? Equally is it hard to get of heading for Death Valley?

Early April weather can vary between sunny warm weather (60-70-degree daytime temps) to cooler fall-like days, with chilly evenings. For more thorough information on visiting us during the spring, I recommend going to the Spring Activities page of our website.
You can find it by doing a google search for Montecito Sequoia Lodge & Summer Family Camp, as TripAdvisor does not allow us to post website links in our answers.
Occasionally we will receive a late-season bit of snow or rain. It is usually a great time to visit if you are interested in seeing the most popular sites in the parks, as there a fewer visitors during the spring, than in summer or winter. It is a great time to hike too!
The park service may require chains in the event in a late season snow, so it is always good to carry chains with you when coming to the parks from Nov - April (although if we do have snow at this time of year, 4WD will usually suffice).
You can keep an eye on our weather report before visiting (we provide a weather-link on our website) and can always cancel 48-hours ahead of your reservation for a full refund, if you do not want to drive up to the parks if there is potential snow in the forecast.
We are easy to reach from LA...you just take Hwy 5 North to Hwy 99 North, and have two options for reaching us (we recommend via Hwy 180), which are detailed on the directions page of our website.
In terms of access to Death Valley, our parks are quite far apart in that there is no thru-road from the western side of the Sierra Nevadas to Death Valley -- so it's not usually efficient to try to do them in the same trip unless you have a lot of time.
Better to do Sequoia/Kings Canyon & Yosemite in the same trip, as they are quite close together.
Please note that in addition to exploring the sites in the parks, we offer on-site activities, including our kids' club, 7-days a week year-round, also your meals and activities are included in your room rate.
Hope that helps!

Is there a reason why the Vintage Lodge Suite with 2 Kings, plus 2 Bunks only can accommodate 6 people? I seems it can accommodate up to 4 adults and 4 kids (age 5 to 12)?

Hello Will, The Sequoia suites are not designed to accommodate 4 adults, plus 4 children due to their layout. We only allow one family (one set of parents, plus children) to share this suite, since there is only one bathroom to accommodate all occupants. Additionally, there is one inner room with only a skylight for natural light, which children seem not to mind, but adults prefer the outer room that features 2 windows for natural light. For everyone's comfort, we recommend 2 rooms. I hope that helps! Sincerely, Montecito
