This resort was awful for many reasons: 1. Our room had stained sheets and a towel with holes.A discarded sachet of used shampoo was lying in the bathroom. The teacup in our room was cracked, which caused hot tea to spill all over. On pointing some of these issues out, the room service was extremely rude. Not a single apology was offered about any of this. 2. There was a loud party at the resort with music blasting from speakers in the early evening. The receptionist said this was a planned party (why weren't guests notified of this in advance so they could cancel their booking?). Worst of all, the loud music started blasting from the speakers again in the middle of the night at 11pm for a full hour, woke everyone up and was impossible to get any good sleep through the night. Noone was at the reception to address the noise issue in the middle of the night. Completely unacceptable. 3. The restaurant and kitchen seemed unhygienic. Restaurant server was rubbing his bare hands over plates before placing them on our table. Take your money elsewhere to have a good stay.…
The resort is located near the mountain and the place is calm and cool. Very relaxing place. Black thunder theme park is located nearby as well. A good place to stay. Campfire and gardens are nice locations to spent time.
We stayed in the hotel for a day as it was one of the stop-over points in our relay cycling journey. The hotel is spacious. Staff are courteous; it has huge space for nursery and various saplings were being grown there. Rooms are comfy and large. Food is also good standard. Overall satisfied with it. The Black Thunder resort is also less than a KM away from this hotel.
As a retired solo traveler (male) with the goal of riding on all five mountain railways here in India, I am often at a shelter for only overnight, and it is no different here—I’ll be leaving by (04:30) tomorrow to queue for a Nigiri Mountain Railway ticket tomorrow. When I engaged the tuk-tuk driver to deliver me the 6kms/4mikes here, I became disenchanted with how far it was from the train station and considered canceling so that I could stay closer. However, upon entry, I immediately knew I had made the correct choice, even if it meant rising early. This is an extremely clean motel, with staff who go out of their way to assist ALL guests. What I really, REALLY, like is having a super nice room on the ground level—no stairs I’d have to GimpWalk up or (worse) down. The hot water can scald, moderate with cold. In fact, because I arrived here much earlier than anticipated, I was able give my few hits of laundry a better soaking/hand washing. The bed is a classic firm, just the way I like it. There is a Western-style toilet, which my knees certainly prefer! WiFi is very strong in the rooms. the in-house restaurant is also very convenient. Being far from the station is a negative, and the only other negative is that the outlets are lacking the receptacle which can accommodate the flat-bladed plugs of North America. Regardless, I’m very glad to be here, and enthusiastically give it my hearty “Wheel if Approval!”…
We stayed here for 1 night so that we could get the train to Ooty. Comfortable, clean hotel to stay in and only 20 minutes from the train station. Would recommend to stay in if looking for overnight stay before getting train to Ooty.
