Hi folks, me and my 13 year old daughter are planning to stay at Casa Mazzola in August and we don't plan to hire a car. We'll be flying into Naples. Can anyone give me some advice please regarding public transport from Naples to the B&B and also the walking distances to the towns of Sant Agnello and Sorrento, and perhaps also details re getting to Pompeii! Yours in anticipation. Thanks.

Sir, you've selected a wonderful B&B. Ugo and Luigi are wonderful hosts. If you can afford about an additional 20 lire per night, request one of the rooms with a deck that looks out over the Bay of Naples--the view is spectacular both day and night, and well worth the extra cost, in my opinion. (Make sure they drive you up to a favorite restaurant of theirs, Ristorante Stelluccia, for dinner. Modestly priced and the best meal we had in all of Italy last July. Plus, the restaurant will drive you back to the B&B.)
In Naples, you catch the Circumvesuviana (the Sorrento line) to San Agnello. (San Agnello is the next-to-last stop, just before Sorrento.) Be careful of pickpockets at the Naples station! Along this same line there is a stop for Pompeii, but you'll want to get off at San Agnello and make a separate day trip to Pompeii. It's amazing and well worth it.
When you get off in San Agnello, Ugo or Luigi will drive down from the hills and pick you up at the gas station (Esso?) just outside the train station, to the left--just call them when you get there. There is a bus that takes you down to the town center for a few lire, and the bus stop is conveniently located just outside the B&B. After 8:00pm, call the B&B and Ugo or Luigi will pick you up.
We did not walk to Sorrento as we had my elderly parents with us, but we were told that it was only a 15-20 minute walk.
Have a great time--we sure did!

Hi - apologies for delay with reply - have been out of circulation but your query has been answered with great clarity by other travellers who have stayed at Casa Mazzola. Enjoy your stay - you will not be disappointed :)
What is the distance from Casa Mazzola to Sant'agnello train station. I will be walking. Any buses in the area?

It is too far to walk but they will pick you up as part of the service. There is a local bus that runs past their BnB and they will give you the timetable. Enjoy
