This hotel is located on the beach. The beach is just ok in my opinion. The rooms are VERY dated and I saw some bugs. The bed was oddly comfortable though. The staff is very friendly. My favorite thing is the area, plenty of bars...เพิ่มเติม
This is an old hotel. Not overly clean. The hotel next door, with tacit approval of the city, is having a labor dispute & the workers blast music from the street (public).
Mgt did a nice job to keep opposite & up. I appreciate it....เพิ่มเติม
This was our first time visiting PR, and we were definitely looking for a beach resort type hotel. If the most important factor is to stay on the beach, and don't want to pay a fortune, this is definitely a good option.

We actually found the place thru an Airbnb.. renovated place which was very nice. Full kitchen , living room, bathroom, 1 bedroom.. they all have balconies.. The pool is really nice and there is also a hot tub and plenty of chairs.. Direct access to...เพิ่มเติม
The ESJ is over 40 years old. I know this because when we honeymooned in San Juan 41 years ago, we toured this timeshare high rise building located right next to The El San Juan Hotel. Our unit was just as it was 41 years...เพิ่มเติม

Yes. A few
We rented a car, how long will it take us to drive to Old San Juan? Can we drive to the forest parks, if so how long is the drive and or would it be better for us to just take the bus?

The bus is .75 cents to get to old San Juan. Takes 20 min. You can rent a car to drive to the rain forest or go on a guided tour which I would recommend for a first timer.
Hello, I will be staying at the ESJ April 26-30th with my boyfriend and another couple. We are all in our early 30s and this will be all of our fist time in PR, are there any suggestions on fun stuff to do? Will the renovations to the hotel be completed by then? Any suggestions on a nice restaurant to have a Birthday dinner? Thanks

I'd cancel your reservation if possible. There are protesters next door, and they are VERY LOUD. They yell and play obnoxiously loud music until the wee hours of the morning. It was awful and they plan to be there 18 mos. Fun things to do - go to Old San Juan and see the forts, go to the beach, rent a car from Charlie rent a car and go to El Yunque and go for a hike. Take the mini boats and go snorkeling in Fajardo. But don't stay at ESJ - the rooms are filthy too. And they'll try to sell you a timeshare. Embassy Suites is much nicer.
