My husband and I are nearing the end of our second holiday at Galley Bay in Antigua. I am happy to say that everything we loved about our first visit to this singular island, we are experiencing again. And our stay at Galley Bay Resort...เพิ่มเติม
Not much. A 5 star from us on our second stay. All the five star reviews are pretty much true. But what about the 1,2,3,4 star reviews? Were there some common threads among them? To save you the trouble, I trolled them to see. Here...เพิ่มเติม

Just wondering how close other beaches are to this resort and how easy they are to get to? As well as other excursions and places to explore? This would be our honeymoon and my fiancé and I would like to check out different places to snorkel and experience Antigua

The Galley Bay beach extends a good distance and then connects to further beaches in both directions. The water near the hotel is extremely shallow and extends out roughly 100 meters until it reaches the reef. Up to that point it rarely exceeds 2 meters deep and often less than half a meter at low tide so can be a little frustrating. Don't let that put you off, plenty to see with loads of different species and some good size fish in the shallows. Loads of sea urchin so make sure you wear swim shoes or fins.
Huge surf breaking on reef most of the time so expect fairly poor visibility 1 - 3 meters on average although odd spots of 5'ish.
Do not miss the early morning boat trip to snorkel with dolphins. We went on a full day trip, snorkelling for about an hour with large pods of 30 to 60 spinner dolphin including young ones. They swam within a few meters of us and stayed close for a while too so we had a great view and plenty of photos. Then went snorkelling on a reef to the south of Galley Bay (plenty to see and coral in pretty good condition generally) then had late lunch on a small island. Brilliant value at less than €70 all in.
Plenty of other similar trips on offer.
Extremely good viz, 20-30 meter offshore.
