This hotel was used for an overnight sports tournament. It is located directly across the street from the outlet malls. It is super Clean, New, with super comfy beds, and was a great value. I highly recommend this hotel.
We walked in to check-in and the teenage girls we had with us were like, “wow, look at this, and look a this and look at these chairs and the Game Center....and on and on”. It’s a very clean, trendy, and modern hotel. The rooms were clean, beds were comfy, and the decor was simple yet modern. The girls loved it! I would stay here over and over!
A friend booked this for us for a night. I've never heard if it before but my goodness it made an impression! My friend & I had 2 separate rooms with our daughter's. It has a beautiful lobby, very good for everyone. It has games, TVs, business cubbies & more. It has a wonderful home feeling. They have a wide variety of drinks & snacks you can buy. Our room was very nice. The beds were great, very comfortable (my opinion & my 20 year olds). Very up to date, plenty of places to plug in your devices & plenty of outlets. I love the floors & the simple touches. The bathroom has squeeze soap, shampoo & lotion dispensers, plenty of towels & a lot of space to set your things on. They even had an extra safety latch on the door. The only things they didn't have in the room was a microwave (there is one in the lobby) & a Bible. I would have liked to see a Bible more than a microwave. I would bring your own pillow if you like firm. They are nice but very soft. I would come here again & recommend Tru to anyone!! …
I was pretty excited when I made a reservation at the Tru by Hilton in Monroe, Ohio for a trip last weekend. This hotel opened just this summer, so everything is sparkling new. I was disappointed in my stay. Here are the pros and cons (the cons far outweigh the pros for me): THE PROS: - The lobby area was very nice, with lots of places to sit, and foosball and games for kids. - Sparkling new, clean room. Good efficient layout. - Soap in the dispenser is much better than the cheap little bars you get most places. A small amount suds well. - The indoor pool was very nice, clean, heated the first night I swam but not the second. It goes from 3 feet to 4 feet, so its not really deep enough for adults to swim but it's good for soaking, floating, and good depth for older kids. My 11 year old niece enjoyed it. - Opening the room door with your phone is convenient and very cool. - Picking your specific room online the night before when checking in remotely was great. - There was a very small fridge in the room that worked for me, but probably would be too small for a family. - Window blind in the room blocked outside light very well. NOW THE CONS: - Cleaning staff was not wearing masks at all, didn't even have any on them. Sign on the front of the hotel said all must wear masks, guests were, front desk was most of the time, but I saw several staff members cleaning rooms during my stay and NONE of them were wearing masks. Like I said above, they didn't even HAVE masks. - The beds are not comfortable at all, and the pillows are the worst ever. Your head basically sinks right through it like there's no pillow at all. This is main reason I am giving this hotel a 2. I stayed three nights and couldn't sleep well at all, averaged only 3 hours per night of sleep because it was so uncomfortable. - The bright flashing light on the smoke alarm right by the bed was extremely annoying (for people like me that are very nearsighted, without my contacts small lights look huge). Sometimes it flashed super bright like a camera flash. Very annoying and contributed to not being able to get to sleep. - The bed was made with the sheets shorted, so you have to tear it all apart in order to pull up the sheet. The sheets are also weirdly thin. - The walls and ceiling are very thin - lots of noise from the room above and the room next door from people checking in after 2 am. - No microwave in the room, there is community use microwave in the lobby. Mostly because of the uncomfortable bed and pillows, I would not stay here again. I would rather stay in an older hotel that was clean and had comfortable beds and pillows. I was exhausted after this trip from lack of sleep.…
