Yes,we do get busy and forget to return to a room to finish a tub or other small jobs, we get distracted by phone calls, guests needing something and we can forgot to return when the brain gets over loaded at times !!!! , yes I admit that a little orange citrus spay to clean tubs was left in a tub.,any innkeeper will tell you that they try very hard to remove each and every hair in rooms or bathrooms. however a cleaning cloth can catch one off guard and one can be left behind thinking we have a perfect clean tub sink or room.. So sorry but it does happen once in a great while no matter how hard one tries ...One can turn their head to leave a room and another one appears to have flown in the tub or sink.... .,no one is perfect 100% of the time, although we try very hard after 18 years of business.
So a couple of errors are due our way once in awhile ( 4 to 5 times in 18 years not a bad record.)
We used to leave one bar of soap opened- unwrapped along with a wrapped one for future use.,If one looked at the soap opened, Sugar Loaf Hill is stamped on the soap. It wasn't used, just unwrapped
and ready to use. However we have stopped having a soap ready for use (unwrapped )now that we saw a guest had stated that we were putting used soap out for use ! The same guest said we needed to paint. We have a very up dated 1720 and 1840 home. We left the very old doors inside the bathrooms with old crackled paint that most guests like the old original look. A young female guest stated they need painting in a review , she must have not appreciated the old look. Being innkeepers we learn so much everyday from all our guests .We certainly try and correct anything that needs attention as soon as possible. I must comment on rugs, when a guest has a spill we attend to a rug area as soon as we find it and are not always told there was a spill, we clean it up
the best we can,. however when one has a window of 2 hours to turn a room over we can't call in a cleaning service that minute we find it, professionals are needed at times. A room has to be shout down for a night or two when a guest isn't booked to do the correct job. We do scrub until we feel it's the best one can do for a guest to use the room . So again once in awhile a spot would be seen but we do try to have a very clean B&B and a nice place to stay, one that we would certainly would want to stay in if we were paying guests and traveling to South Kingstown. We do appreciate Trip Advisor it keeps us all on our toes to do our best in the industry . At times we find it only fair to respond to some of the comments when we have time to respond usually at this time of the year when we can breathe again..... We appreciate everyone' business and try to service everyone and would hope when something isn't 100% it is brought to our attention to try and be corrected. .Thank you all for the pleasure of 18 years of joyful experiences and your friendships we have made with all of you all around the world visiting us. My question would be so would you like to be an innkeeper
someday ,24/7 year round .. It is worth it !!!!!!!
