My husband and I have stayed in several B&B's but must say this is the BEST ever! We had a 2 room suite and able to bring our two furbabies with us. It is a quick walk to downtown or several restaurants in the neighborhood....เพิ่มเติม
Excellent accommodations. We stayed in the Ralph Waldo Emerson Suite which was extremely Clean, cozy with a Fireplace. Very spacious
Highly recommend this room. The 5:00 PM Cocktail hour was a nice touch & able to have some conversation with other Guests. Breakfast was a...เพิ่มเติม
First time in a bed and breakfast...what a wonderful surprise. Thomas greeted us upon arrival and gave us an introductory tour. Ralph served breakfast and chatted with the guests the whole time. It was so enjoyable and relaxing. I would definitely recommend trying this wonderful...เพิ่มเติม
What a wonderful experience for some first timers to Asheville! Frank and Ralph are the most accommodating and entertaining hosts and owners! Thomas, the resident innkeeper, was very professional and an excellent resource at recommending things to do nearby! Our room was quaint and cozy...เพิ่มเติม
I chose this inn because of some of the great reviews I read and it is close to downtown. However, I have to say I was disappointed with the cleanliness of my suite. I dropped something on the floor and it went under the bed...เพิ่มเติม
My fiancé and I are planning a road trip, and thinking about staying at the WhiteGate Inn around 11/20-22. We are trying to be a bit economical, but thinking of splurging for just a night or two. All of the rooms look beautiful, but I think we are between the Oscar Wilde (for saving) and Maya Angelou (for splurging) suites. Trying to decide if it's really reasonable to pay so much more for the latter, when I'm sure the former would already be a great experience. Any suggestions, pros, or cons to either? Thank you.

As long as you don't intend to spend hours awake in your room, there is little need to go splurging. We did not take a fancy space, spent a lot of time exploring out and around Asheville. Came back to unwind a bit before dinner, but sunroom is open then too, went to dinner and came back to sleep. Didn't miss or need a more expensive space.
can one easily walk downtown?

Debbi, My sisters and I drove because it was cold and there is typically ample parking around Asheville even if you have to pay in a parking deck. It's a good 10 minute walk, but doable, especially in good weather. However it is on the other side of 240 and you walk "underneath' the highway. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Very pleased and would like to go back. Hope this helps.
