This 'hotel' was probably the worst one I've ever stayed in. Although the decor is athletically great (except fot the fact that it's all fake - faux flowers, plastic frames, etc). In a nutshell, this place looks more fancy than it actually is. The common areas are nice and all designed well, including the restaurant (although we didn't eat there so can't speak for the food). The main SHOCKER was the rooms. They were also designed with cheap material and, most importantly, felt VERY dirty. The bathrooms were small and almost similar to a low grade hostel. The sheets were black and felt so cheap and dirty, it kept us up all night. Don't expect clean, white hotel sheets here. It felt like sheets haven't been washed for weeks and they were the worst quality sheets I've ever seen. The bathroom was small and very cramped. Again, it also felt like it was not cleaned. The towels were small and very thin and cheap. We stayed for one night. We didn't slept well and left as early as we could the following morning. We tried to grab breakfast (which is 'included') but were told we could go accross the street to a shack to get it. The Cafe was on the street and we were told we could pick a pastry from behind the glass counter and coffee. That was it. Even the breakfast is one we would have happily tolerated but I think this hotel needs a thorough inspection as I'm surprised it's operating as one. I have to say that Lorenzo, the staff member who greeted us, was so nice and warm. Otherwise, this was definitely a memorable stay, but not in a good way. As I said, the worst hotel experience I've ever been through.…
A perfect view, the hotel is situated close to The Pope's, Summer Palace. The hotel seems to be of a yester year and is primarily a restaurant but has three bedrooms. It's quite a glitzy decor everywhere and great if you love black and gold. It has such promise but is let down by being a bit tired and poorly maintained as far as the rooms were concerned. Bathroom towels were also on the small side. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful and looked after all our requests. The price per night was reasonable and even though breakfast was situated in a cafe, a short walk away, the pastries and coffee were excellent. If they were primarily a B&B, then perhaps you could be more critical but for the location and price it was OK.
The view from the balcony is stunning but unfortunately this doesn’t make up for the poor state of the hotel. The room was very dirty, and didn’t look like it had had a good clean for ages. The bed linen was stale, not fresh at all. Hand towels only in the very small bathroom. The rooms are below a very busy restaurant, the noise level is very high at night. The entrance doors to the rooms are in very poor repair. Breakfast is not on site but a few 100yrds away in a local cafe consisting of coffee and croissant
This hotel has an enviable location next to the Popes summer palace with fabulous views. It could so easily be a magnificent boutique hotel but is severely let down by lack of cleanliness in the rooms, poor Maintainence and general upkeep. Whilst bathrobes and towels are provided these towels are far too small. The bathrooms are dirty and the External entrance to the bedroom areas is just awful. The bed linen was not freshly laundered. The rooms are below the restaurant area and very noisy Breakfast is not on site, but in a cafe a few 100yrds away and consists of coffee and croissants only
