We're from the Pacific Northwest and look forward to traveling November through March when the clouds roll in here. After a long stay-at-home experience while raising children, which also meant single income and tight budget,we learned to find creative ways to travel within that budget whether that means camping on Kauai or home stays in Europe. We are lifelong learners, lovers of reading and history with more admiration for "God-made" than "man-made". The people we meet are always the most memorable part of the trip. We always prefer experiencing local flavors and sights to the "bubble" of a resort or a tour group. You're more likely to find us at a farmer's market or enjoying a park than at an art museum. When I do stay in a hotel, I'm looking for location, cleanliness and helpful staff rather than decor. I'd rather spend my travel money on seeing the sights than when I'm asleep.
