It was a sarcastic response which probably wasn't the most political way to handle the situation, so I apologize for my retort. However, I do recall that day, and I clearly remember our reservation book and how many customers we had to plan for. It's practically impossible to please everyone in this type of industry. To break down this type of situation, when there is a reservation any less than 1 1/2 hrs out, most restaurants will stop seating the table that is planned for that group so as to have it available for them, given that it takes about that amount of time to turn it over for the next group. Quite often a mass of people will reserve the same time slot until its practically impossible to seat a walk-in party for an extended period of time. I hope this explanation is helpful in understanding our view point, as I do understand your frustration from that day. Again, I apologize for my initial remarks and you have my thanks for calling me out on it so that I don't repeat that mistake in the future. I wish you safe travels.
